Urban mobility apps
YetGO and Chofer APP: two ride-hailing apps built in React Native to compete with Uber.
At Codificar, a software house where I worked on many kinds of apps, sites and systems, I built two urban mobility apps: YetGO and Chofer APP. Both were created to compete with Uber and shipped with the full feature set of a ride-hailing platform.
Passenger features:
- Sign up and login
- Pick-up and destination selection on the map, with address search
- Fare estimate before requesting the ride
- Ride request and automatic driver matching
- Real-time tracking of the driver approaching and of the trip
- Payment inside the app
- Driver and trip rating
- Trip history and receipts
- Push notifications for each ride status
Driver features:
- Online and offline availability
- Incoming ride requests to accept or decline
- Turn-by-turn navigation to the passenger and to the destination, in real time
- Trip control: arrival, start and end of the ride
- Earnings and trip history
- Push notifications for new requests
Stack and architecture:
- App: React Native and TypeScript on iOS and Android
- Maps and navigation: Google Maps SDK with real-time location and routes
- State: Redux to keep the ride state in sync across screens
- Quality: unit and component tests with Jest
